You’ve just received the most beautiful gift ever, now what? Leave it as it or should you transfer them?
Our flower experts at Avantgarde Blooms have come up with some easy-to-follow tips and instructions to make sure your fresh, gorgeous flowers last longer!
Step #1 - Keep it standing
When you receive your bouquet, make sure to keep it upright as much as you can as there is water at the bottom. This should be easy peasy as if you keep the wrapped bouquet in our signature packaging, you should have no problem keeping it upright.
Step #2 - Remove packaging, wrapping paper and aqua pack
Remember to remove the bouquet wrapping before you go ahead and transfer the flowers into a vase.
Step #3 - Prepare a clean vase with clean water
Grab a vase or anything you would like to put them in and make sure it’s CLEAN. We recommend filling them up with cold tap water, up to half or two-thirds full.
Step #4 - Add flower food
We provide a sachet of flower food with all our wrapped bouquets. Just go ahead and cut the sachet open and add to the water. Flower food contains all the nutrients your flowers need to increase their shelf life. Remember to keep the flower food out of reach of infants, kids, and pets.
Step #5 - Trim flower stems
Cut approximately 2 inches off from the end of stems at a 45-degree angle. For the best result, use clean, sharp floral shears or just plain old scissors but it has to be CLEAN.
Bonus tip #1 - No foliage below water level
Make sure there is no foliage below the water level as this will introduce more bacteria to the water and rot the flower stems.
Bonus tip #2 - No foliage below water level
It is important to make sure that the water doesn’t discolor or turn murky as it can affect water absorption as well. We recommend replacing it with cold tap water every time you trim the flower stems (every 2 days).
Bonus tip #3 - No foliage below water level
Conditions such as direct sunlight, extreme heat, or dust aren’t good for your flowers; they can make them wilt faster. It is best to place your flowers in a shaded area at a cool temperature. Our weather here will literally burn those beautiful blooms.
